Film Poster Conventions

There are key features which should always be incorporated into a film poster, these are to ensure enough information is shared with the target audience, and other audience to publicise the film in an effective way. These are:
- The film title, usually in a font which links in some way to the genre or storyline of the film.
- A 'stars' name, the full name of the main actor/actress in the film.
- Date of release, this is important to publicise when the public can access the film.
- Film classification rating, making an audience aware of who it is appropriate for.
- Distributor, who is distributing the film and making it accessible.
- A tagline, especially for a film which is part of a series or comes from a novel using a tagline can be effective as it is memorable to an audience.
